Manage tasks on the board

Filter, sort and bulk-edit feedback tasks, see everything assigned to you in My tasks, use keyboard shortcuts, and pause new feedback for a project.

On this page

Every piece of feedback becomes a task on your project's board. This page covers the tools for working through them quickly: filters and sorting, due-date labels, bulk actions, My tasks, keyboard shortcuts, and pausing new feedback. For a daily routine that puts them to use, read how to triage website bugs on a Kanban board.

Filter and sort the board

The toolbar above the board narrows it down:

ControlWhat it shows
SearchTasks whose title contains your text, or a task number such as #12
SeverityOne severity: Critical, High, Normal, Low or Not set
AssigneeAnyone, tasks assigned to you, unassigned tasks, or one person's tasks
PageTasks reported on one page of your site. Query strings and #anchors are ignored, so /pricing?ref=ads counts as /pricing
SortBoard order (the default), newest first, severity (most severe first) or due date (soonest first, tasks without one last)

When a filter hides tasks, the toolbar shows how many are left, for example 6 of 20 tasks. Clear filters removes the assignee and page filters.

The assignee, page and sort choices are saved in the page address, so you can bookmark a view, such as "unassigned tasks on the pricing page", or send it to a teammate.

While the board is sorted, you can't drag cards, because the order you'd drag against isn't the one you see. Set Sort back to Board order to drag again. You can still move tasks between columns with bulk actions.

Due dates

Set a due date in a task's details. The card then shows it, colored by how soon it is:

LabelMeaning
Overdue · Sep 13, in redThe due date has passed
Due today, Due tomorrow or Due Sep 17, in amberDue within the next two days
Due Sep 25, in grayDue later

Tasks in the board's last column, usually Done, show their date in gray and are never marked overdue.

Change many tasks at once

Hover a card and tick the checkbox next to its number, or Shift-click the card. Once one card is selected, clicking any other card adds it to the selection instead of opening it.

A bar appears at the bottom of the screen:

ActionWhat it does
Select allSelects every card the board is showing, after filters
Move toMoves the tasks to another column
AssignAssigns them to someone on the project, or unassigns them
SeveritySets the same severity on all of them
Add tagAdds one of the project's tags
ArchiveArchives them after you confirm. You can restore them from the project's Archive

Each change is saved and recorded in every task's activity, the same as changing the task from its details. If some tasks can't be changed, a message tells you how many, for example "Moved 2 of 3 tasks — 1 failed", and those tasks stay selected so you can try again.

Press Esc or click Clear to deselect everything.

My tasks

My tasks in the sidebar lists every open task assigned to you, across all the projects you can open. Tasks in a board's last column, usually Done, and archived tasks aren't listed.

Tasks are grouped by due date: Overdue, Due this week (today and the next seven days), Later and No due date. Within a group, the soonest due come first, then the most severe. Click a task to open it on its board.

Keyboard shortcuts

Press ? anywhere in the app to see this list.

Single-key shortcuts don't fire while you're typing in a field. You can also open the jump-to search with the Search button at the top of every project page.

Pause new feedback

To stop new feedback for a project, for example when a review round is over or while your team works through the backlog, open the project's Settings → Feedback and switch off Accepting new feedback. You can switch it back on at any time, and nothing is deleted.

While it's off:

  • The widget and the browser extension still load, but sending new feedback fails with "This project isn't accepting new feedback right now."
  • Guest review links can't create new tasks. Guests can still comment.
  • Visitors without an account can't comment on public tasks.
  • Your team works as usual: add tasks on the board or through AI tools, comment, and move tasks along.
  • Existing tasks, pins and screenshots stay where they are.

While feedback is paused, the board's toolbar shows Feedback paused. Click it to go straight to the setting.

Share a task

When you open a task, the address in your browser ends in ?task=…. Copy it to send a teammate straight to that task. It opens for anyone who can open the project.
